About your host

I've been a road cyclist for 6 years. I ride regularly in the Southern Highlands with locals over distances up to 100km. I know the best rides to experience the best that the Southern Highlands has to offer. I love the sights, sounds and smells that you can experience on a ride. There are some challenging hills, but the views from the top (and getting there!) can literally take your breath away...

What we’ll do

We'll choose our intended route and ride out together in the early morning, passing through local towns and villages. We can stop to take photos, depending on what we find along the way. We will finish in Bowral for coffee and breakfast.

What else you should know

We have a no drop policy on our rides. We ride to the pace of the slowest rider. We expect riders to be fit enough to manage 20-25km/h average over a 40-60km ride.

What to bring

A good quality well maintained road bike (you can hire bikes at The Fixed Wheel locally)
Water bottle
Suitable riding clothing (it can be a lot colder here than in Sydney or on the coast)
Energy bars/gels/fruit as required
Helmet/Sunglasses/Gloves/Repair Kit
Money (when/if we stop for coffee/breakfast)
Sunscreen

Where you'll be

We'll ride a chosen route through the roads of the Southern Highlands. Mostly, these will be quiet roads with very little traffic - especially if we start early (around 7am). There are many picturesque towns (Bundanoon, Exeter, Berrima, Sutton Forest, Robertson, Kangaloon, Wildes Meadow, Avoca, Joadja) in the Highlands, as well as wonderful green hills and an abundance of wildlife.
