What you'll do
Hear the stories which has passed down through generations of people who have built their lives inside these walls along with the Colonial Heritage of Sri Lanka. The lifestyle, unique culture and tradition come alive in this walk through the Fort's timeless streets. In brief the walk shall begin from my home or any convenient land mark location such as the Clock Tower or the Light House. We shall walk along the Fort covering both the Land and Sea Facades, thereafter explore the streets and the architecture within. You shall experience how the Ramparts and Bastions were engineered in a 17th Century Fort and how it survived the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004, the consequence and the impact thereafter, which proved itself as a living UNESCO World Heritage Site in Asia.
I am a Law student at Sri Lanka Law College. A Hobbyist Historian since childhood and acquired a vast knowledge of the lived history of the area, along with a unique understanding of the little known nooks and crannies of the Fort. My family has been living inside the Fort for the last 8 generations. Our home is a historical old dutch house which was conserved under the Galle Heritage Foundation.

The Historical Dutch House that our family live : No.28, Middle Street, Fort, Galle. The residence is a Dutch building built during the mid-1700's. It is believed that the house might have been the residence of a High Ranking Dutch Officer at that point of time. The family has been owning the house since 1875.
