What you'll do
You will see Masai life through the eyes of the Masai themselves. There are 4 parts of this journey for travelers into Masai life. These are: 1. Sitting down in a traditional Masai home (manyatta) and talking to a Masai warrior and his wife about marriage, rights of passage and gender roles 2. Taking part in the songs and dances which welcome visitors and which give key insights into Masai life and their relationship with the land 3. Learning the art of building a traditional Masai home and understanding the roles of each gender in the construction of a home. This part of the program actually involves constructing a home which people will live in 4. Walking with a Masai warrior as he tells people about his environment and the herbs and medicines which the land provides for him and his family. All this is done as you walk the herd to greener pastures
