We will meet together in Grottole at the indicated point and we will leave for the olive grove where we collect the olives every year since october to december. After a walk through the olive trees in which you will be shown the main characteristics of the plants present, we will go in our oil mill. Here you will be shown the whole process of extra virgin olive oil, from storage to the centrifugation, the final process. Then there will be a tasting of our product, through the typical "red fedda", bread roasted with freshly squeezed oil.

Hi, I am Silvio and I am the host community of WonderGrottole, a non-profit organization that aims to revive this small country. In this experience, I will introduce you to Giuseppe and Vincenzo, who for over forty years has been preserving the tradition of extra virgin olive oil inherited from their grandparents. They have been working in this field since childhood, but the passion and love for oil always remain the same. The type of oil mill that you will visit will be a mill equipped with a traditional method, that is, working with a stone mill and hydraulic presses.

This was a great experience! We were lucky to go during olive harvest, which meant we got to see them being processed in the factory. I learned a ton and the olive oil tasting at the end was delicious. Highly recommended!

We were very lucky to be in Puglia during the Olive harvesting season, so we got to see (and smell!) the oil being made. Vincenzo met us by their orchard where we learned what it takes to make the trees thrive and see the olives up close. Then, we went to their pressing facility, and every step of the oil making process. It was very interesting to get up close, and the smell was incredible! Vincenzo easily answered all of our questions, and his family was very welcoming even though we were there while they were working and very busy. I highly recommend if you're in the area, especially toward the end of the year during the harvest!

What a wonderful, magical day on our tour of the Frantoio Oleario D'Aria Giuseppe. Our hosts, Giuseppe, Conchita and Vincenzo, gave our family a tour of their family olive grove, followed by an experience of the traditional olive milling process at each stage from the olives going in the hopper to the pressing. Vincenzo explained every part of the tour in impeccable English with great knowledge and passion for his family's business. We were very lucky to have our tour just days after the first olives of the season had begun to be harvested. Our hosts provided an exquistely delicious tasting of oil and olives. They were fine hosts and we all enjoyed their company immensely. We highly highly recommend this tour

This tour with Silvio, Giuseppe and Maria (please excuse us if Maria’s name is not correct) was astonishing! We would give many more stars if it were possible. We started with a tour of the olive orchard where Silvio explained the things needed for olives to thrive. Giuseppe and Silvio explained that different cultivars have different strengths. Giuseppe opened olives to show us the difference between a healthy olive and one infected. They have an abundant healthy crop this year which was about to be harvested. They use only organic processes because they produce traditional extra virgin olive oil. Silvio had videos showing the milling and extraction process. The tour topped off with a tasting of their wonderful olive oil and a special treat by Maria- fresh olives fried in olive oil. Delicious! Everyone should visit Grottole!

This was a wonderful olive oil tour! Giuseppe has so much knowledge to share with you! He is very passionate about his work. We enjoyed walking through the olive groves and learning about how they care for their trees. We then went to where the production takes place and learned the different steps it takes to make the olive oil. We learned so much about olive oil. The tour ended with italian bread and their incredible tasting olive oil. Giuseppe's wife, Concetta, and his daughter Martina joined us for the tour. It was really great talking with them and getting to know them. They really made us feel welcomed. We highly recommend this tour! thank you

Wonderful experience. Loved learning about the process of making olive oil from the farm to the bottle and the importance it plays in Italian cooking and culture.
