What you'll do

You can't find these colorful dumplings in any ordinary restaurant. You can only find them at a state banquet or some five star hotels. They seem difficult to make but don't worry, they actually are easy. I'll teach you how to knead dough with your hands, and how to make a wrap with a rolling pin, which is totally the Chinese style. You'll learn the Chinese names of different dumplings and their symbolic meaning. For these kinds of dumplings, the filling is pork. If you are vegetarian, don't worry, I always have an alternative. I'll teach you how to marinate the pork in a very easy but healthy way. We'll put four colorful chopped vegetables on the top. After learning how to make these four different kinds of dumplings I'll teach you how to make the easiest and basic dumplings(Jiaozi) which is my hometown style. I'll tell you how long it's best to steam and how to fry Jiaozi, and you will learn how to make an authentic sauce to go perfectly with the dumplings. This experience is suitable as a team building exercise. If you would like to book a date that is not currently offered, please contact me. If I am available that day we can have class then.

Cici

Hi, I'm Cici! I’ve been teaching Chinese cooking classes to both expats and foreign visitors alike for almost a decade. Throughout these years I have enjoyed sharing my culture with foreigners as well as hearing about their cultures—especially what they like to eat. After first teaching students how to make the food I grew up eating in Northern China, my students begged me to teach them how to cook even more types of Chinese food, so I went to culinary school to learn the art of dim sum, I earned the highest dim sum qualifications available.
