What you'll do

Starting at Tower Hill Underground Station, exit via the ticket hall, this walking tour will cover a range of working Women and the mark they left on Londons East End. The Tour will walk passed the places of interests and memorials of women who rarely have their stories heard. The women included on this walking tour vary from the ‘first feminist’ Mary Wollstonecraft, members of the East London Suffragettes, Sylvia Pankhurst, the Match Women of 1888, to the Women who were killed by Jack the Ripper. The tour will also highlight the daily problems and struggles the working class women faced and discuss the solutions that were introduced by the middle and upper classes to attempt to solve these working class problems and improve the womens lives. It is a walking tour that will run in all weather and throughout the year, we hope our guests will walk away from the tour with the knowledge that Londons East End is full of stories and marks left by Working Women. Our tours are all about celebrating Womens achievements in London, so bring your mother father, brothers, sisters, friends etc and join us in the celebration.

Becky

Hi! I am Becky the founder of Women Of London, a walking tour company that is working towards bridging the gap in the way London's History is presented by including the stories of Women who have helped to shape and change London's History. I have always been passionate about Women's History and studied History at university, I have been a Tour Guide in London for 4 years and last year decided to launch the company Women Of London to change the way visitors to London experience History. I love travelling myself and always try and experience the local culture wherever I go.
