My husband, János Koós-Varju and me, we got to know - the Mátra's "semi precious" gemstone sites, and learned to cut and polish, have bought the necessary machines and equipments. His basic education is mechatronic technician and he is a Power Engineering engineer. I have diploma at the Faculty of "Tourism and Hotel" and I am a village host. I love tourism as a host and also as a traveler. And yes, we love gemstones and the nature too! We are also members of the "Hungarian Friends of Minerals Association" and the "With a clear intention for Gyöngyöstarján village Association"

I planned this experience as a surprise for my girlfriend. And we both think that it was a once in a lifetime experience! Zsofia and Janosh were such great hosts and shared their knowledge on gemstones with us. Despite having no previous experience with such things, we had lots of fun learning new information. The best part was being able to be a part of the entire process of making a gemstone, starting with collecting then sorting, cutting and finally polishing them. This was such a unique experience and is a great way to gift a hand crafted token to your loved ones. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes DIY stuff and has energy to be active all day ;) Also, not to forget, our lunch was prepared in a traditional Hungarian style by a local lady from the village and it was delicious!
