What you'll do

The morning will start around 9:30 am with a tour and snack (apples, carrots, cabbage and grain) feeding to all the animals: bunnies, goats, chickens, cats, sheep and llamas. We’ll introduce each of the six dogs and explain how their unique breeds/behavior contribute to the farms success. We will walk through the grounds and see the various trees, shrubs, the vegetable, fruit and herb garden, orchard; weather permitting we can peek in the bee hives; peek in on goat milking; have a demo of wool spinning; then rest for a bit with coffee, tea, toast and a sampling of farm preserves and goat cheese. We will finish 2 1/2 hrs later at 12 pm. For the last fifteen minutes or so participants can revisit and cuddle with their favorite animals on the tour, or look back on whatever interested them the most.

I have a degree in the humanities from Evergreen college in Washington. I am from Seattle and have travelled all over the world cultivating small businesses, including imports and a restaurant in Central America years ago. In 2013 I established a small sustainable farm model on a 5 acre lawn in Port Angeles. I have chickens for eggs, sheep for wool, goats for milk and cheese, llamas for companionship, bunnies who just showed up!, bees for honey, 6 dogs with various jobs, friendly barn cats for mouse control, a big productive vegetable garden, a small orchard, and lots of flowers. There is a small pond, and a greenhouse.
