About your host

I grew up in St.Chad's. Traveled the northern hemisphere for twenty years and have not gone a year without coming home. One super-dupper planned trip when I was 15 and I have traveled like a hobo ever since. Friends introduced me to kayaking and the next year I had two small boats of my own. My boyfriend took to it pretty quickly and now I have a larger boat at my disposal, as well. Eating things…

What we’ll do

St.Chad's is out of the way and I can pick up depending on location. A brief talk on the history of the place. FYI St.Chad's was initially named Damnable and the island and harbour still are. The incredible Damn The Bell Trail from Salvage to Sandy Cove got its name from us. It's a pirate story! A paddle across the harbour to a - skinny little - waterfall and then the nature-made rock bar. This…

What else you should know

This is a small community. There are no stores. Locals my very well want to know who you are and where you are from and how you ended up here. Or you may not see any people (besides myself)

What I’ll provide

Snacks
At least a snack. A meal and/or beverage upon request for an up charge. Any food request can probably be meet with notice.
Transport
Pick up may be able to be arranged.
Equipment
All equipment required to paddle will be provided. Boat, life jacket, paddle as well as a hat and sunblock, if needed.

What to bring

Any outdoor clothes appropriate for the day. Keep in mind that rain can happen as well as sunburn.
Rubber boots or at least water shoes are strongly suggested. This IS a water activity.
Please wear a hat! The sun is a powerful beast even on not so hot days.
Water. Water. Water. Always important! Water.
Camera, if you like.
Bring some art supplies. We can make it that kind of a day:)

Where you'll be

The history breif starts at one of the most unique stages you have ever seen. My neighbour ties up his boat here but it is also his cool down, get-away on hot summer days. A paddle across the harbour will give you a sea-nic (by sea) tour of the community. The route depends on your ability. One land route is more difficult than the other. Both do include a landed stop, snack & foraging. Swimming and/or snorkeling are encouraged:).

Guest safety

Outdoor activities carry risks, and you may be exposed to dangerous situations as part of this experience. Make sure you can participate safely given your abilities and the conditions (such as location, weather, and equipment).

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 2 guests ages 18 and up can attend. We will be on the water. This is the safest harbour around but the wind and any weather can change without notice.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
