What you'll do

Photo workshop in the heart of London

You will have a lot of fun while learning how to make the most of your camera and experiencing the buzz of London as the sun sets and the city lights switch on. We will walk along the riverpaths capturing the flow of city life while experimenting with different exposures, compositions and learning techniques and tricks to take your photographs to a whole new level. . We will begin with a chat in a cafe near Southwark Bridge and I will explain some technical aspects and creative thought processes. We will then weave our way around and above the Thames finding some really special viewpoints . We will work on some long exposure photography and I will be on hand to give one to one instruction. The grand finale is a fab view of the city from a secret location at sunset.

Our photography experience with Tim was fantastic! I booked in for the experience for myself (who has next to no photography experience) and my Mom (who is getting back into photography after a 30 year hiatus). Tim made us feel very at ease and was extremely patient with our novice status. We got some wonderful shots of the city and knowledge of our cameras and techniques that we can take forward on our holiday. He even included a take home cheat sheet for us to reference. In addition, Tim went above and beyond by helping is arrange a table for supper. Definitely a highlight of our stop in London.

My wife and I only had a few days in London. We had hoped that an experienced professional photographer could put us onto some exceptional photo sites and we were not disappointed. Tim quickly determined our level of experience and our photographic goals. Given his extensive knowledge of London, we were taking amazing shots that we could never have even imagined otherwise. Tim was attentive and helpful. He took us to several sites that would have been impossible for us to find on our own. He took us to rooftop locations with amazing vistas that were perfect for taking great shots of the city. It was obvious that he still had lots of cards up his sleeve. I was impressed with his ability to change the game plan based on local factors (weather, traffic, etc). Tim has the rare combination of intelligence and humbleness that make it a joy to be around him. If you are looking for truly memorable and unique photos from your trip to London, then an evening with Tim is the ticket.

I absolutely loved this tour! Tim knows all the great spots in London and is incredibly patient, talented and simply wonderful! I have some photography experience but still felt challenged and appreciated his input on composition, settings etc. He also helped me navigate home. What a fantastic way to capture your visit to London. Highly recommend! Thank you, Tim!

Tim is a very kind and patient photographer. He gave me many helps for the way I took pics and the thinking based on different sun light levels and angles.

Tim is great, very relaxed and a pleasure to spend time with. As was his wife who joined us that evening. And a very patient teacher! We loved our class/tour. We were very lucky to have a warm night out and a beautiful sunset.

Great workshop. Was a small group of 4 which was ideal as we got lots of time with Tim. Initial chat about settings and basics of photography and then a good long walk round London trying out techniques, taking in sites, and taking lots of photos! Tim has years of experience as a professional photographer and I learnt more about my camera in those 3 hours than I have in the 3 months I’ve had it! Ended the workshop at a photography exhibition in Waterloo station which was perfect. Weather was really cold so wear more layers if it’s January!
