What you'll do
(Note this experience includes transportation and meal, which makes the cost higher) We will visit a community project that has turned one of the ugliest streets in Havana into one of the most charming streets, lined with art installations, boutique private businesses, charming cafes. We'll hear about how the founder turned around the neighborhood before hopping in a taxi (I'll pay transport) to go to the famous Fusterlandia, a mosaic neighborhood inspired by Gaudi. There you will marvel at the colorful kingdom built by Jose Fuster. We will hop in our vehicle once more and head to a working class neighborhood that has been transformed by murals and found art. This community is special because free classes in all types of art are given to everyone from children to the elderly, and so there is a lot of talent being cultivated here. We will enjoy some of this talent as a live band plays for us while we enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. This is a great place to donate art supplies and to purchase unique souvenirs for your friends and family back home.
My friend Rolando and I have many years of guiding experience, showing locals the expected and unexpected charms of our much loved city. We find the community art projects in Havana one of its most inspiring elements, and we have formed relationships with the artists that let you experience them in a more intimate way than you could do on your own.

Where you'll be
We will meet at cute boutique hotel La Gargola (look up and you will see a Gargoyle on the balcony!) and then go around the corner to Callejon de Los Barberos, a community project started by a successful local barber. We taxi to Fusterlandia in Jaimanitas, and then to Muraleando in Lawton before returning to the meeting point.
