What you'll do

This unique experience combines an exploration into women’s imprint on the literary world, as well as the world of wine. We'll take a stroll through Saint Germain-des-Prés walking in the footsteps of female writers, examining the development of the Women's Liberation Movement in France and making a few stops along the way to taste and learn about a selection of delicious wines.

We will visit various sites where women writers lived and worked and begin by pairing with a taste through Burgundy (Bourgogne) as a homage to Colette and George Sand with a timeless display of both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay crafted by female winemakers from the female run organization, Femmes et Vin de Bourgogne.

Traveling South to the famous region of Bordeaux, guests will be introduced to blends and their impact on other parts of the world simultaneously to Sylvia Beach's influence on Paris and some of the great writers of our time.

You will leave with knowledge of how to taste and compare wines as well as having gained insight into Paris's historical female literary scene and how they still impact our lives today. The experience is sure to entertain, enlighten and invigorate the senses!

Heidi is british and so speaks English perfectly. The wine component was only loosely linked to the subject. Both my husband and myself found the sommelier knowledgeable but so soft spoken that it was very difficult to hear her. We have participated in many walking tours, have never had that problem.

This is the one! Do this tour! Get your mind blown by amazing untold history, accompanying photos and perfectly paired wines. My mum and I were head-over-sensible-loafers for this experience. Heidi was super knowledgeable and entertaining and she had stories to tell about Paris and France that reached beyond the scope of the tour. She was generous with her time and the wines were amazing. Not too far to walk for mums (I brought mine and she was happy as a clam). Take your mum, daughter, brother, dad, boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, husband or colleague on this tour. I think it might make the world a better place.

This was a great evening of learning and reflecting and a nice share of laughing too. Celebrating the history and contributions of Women in Paris is far too rare - and Heidi is the right person to help change that. The information, the wine and the company were all excellent.
