What we’ll do

We’ll begin our hike at the trailhead in Harrison Park, the “jewel in the crown” of Owen Sound (25 minutes from Sauble Beach, 40 minutes from the Blue Mountains, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Tobermory, and 2 hours from Toronto Pearson International Airport). We’ll scale the 500-million-year-old Niagara Escarpment and wind through the Grey Bruce Arboretum, where we can count up to 60 different…

This hike is just under 6km, or 3.5 miles, and takes about two hours at a decent pace. It is rated Moderate by AllTrails. We will experience elevation change and rocky footing. Dogs welcome! If a time or date is not available on the calendar, please inquire and we will do our best to accommodate!

Where you'll be

Highlights include visiting Inglis Falls, scaling ice-age boulders dropped during the last glaciation 12,000 years ago, discovering fossilized colonial corals in the 500-million-year-old Niagara Escarpment, meandering along and crossing the Sydenham River, walking through an Ontario Certified Model Forest, learning about local flaura and fauna at the Grey Bruce Arborteum, and visiting the “jewel in the crown” of Owen Sound that is Harrison Park.
