What you'll do
I will be giving you a crash course on Philippine Art History from traditional to folk to popular culture and contemporary with some street food and jeepney rides in between. We will visit the National Museum of Anthropology, Fine Arts and Natural History Museum. After these, we will take a jeep to Chinatown and visit your choice of a hole in the wall restaurant (there's a vegetarian option!) My expertise in Art Studies will provide you with new perspectives about Filipino art and culture.
I am a full time art history professor in a university in Manila with a masters degree in art studies, a part time traveler and a daydreamer in between. I have been hosting travelers in my home and DIY art related events to locals and foreigners. I am passionate about sharing my culture through non-mainstream tourism: street food, market visits, jeepney and lrt rides, independent movies and of course, museum and gallery visits.
