What you'll do

As a tourist, you're usually looking for the walk that gives you the fullest experience but, at the same time, is time and cost-effective. All of this is thought out when people set up their tours so when you sign up for it, you’re sure to get the same thing: the most iconic buildings in town seen through the same old and dated perspective (the “grand narrative”), which put in much simpler terms is the same as seeing things from bird-view — you can get the full scope, but at a distance. For this reason, this walk was carefully designed from a particular point of view to take you through all those old and saturated buildings but be honest (and educated) about them. This means that while you'll be visiting all the touristic hotspots in town, you're getting the two sides of the coin: the “grand narrative” and the not-so-pleasant-info that is frequently left out because it has no place in it. Plus, you will not be getting biased information, but rather historical perspectives that allow you to understand everything in context. Simply (and honestly) put, this walk is everything in between the heavyweight history books and the lifeless compact guidebooks — with a sense of humour.

Born and raised in the city; have lived here for the longest part of my life. The food is great, the weather is priceless but growing up I only cared about finding the best way to go around it. I believe this is what got me into majoring in Art & Architecture History and why I might be just the right person for this walk, aside from my sense of humour. But that's just my guess. Why not make yours?

Food
I'll bring some handpicked seasonal fruit from my grandma's to power us up during the walk.

Where you'll be

Every country has a unique history and its buildings have a very particular way of letting it be known, but you won’t spot it unless someone points it out to you. Portugal is no different and I (like to) believe that all of it will be brought up during this walk — from the golden age to the dark times; past to present; history and architecture but also pop culture. This is the closest you'll ever be to a live-action version of a Wikipedia page.
