What you'll do

Come join me for a unique dinner & drumming evening!

First, I will introduce you to our specialty coffee and you will learn about my cultural background from Senegal - Café Touba does not resemble any mainstream coffee, it will amaze you with a spicy taste and its story!

Second: Come hungry! You will be served a full dinner in buffet style - including pies and several traditional dishes. After the buffet, a traditional dessert will round up the culinary part of the evening.

Third: Drinks and food is not all I will offer - you will meet some of my Senegalese friends who will perform African drumming for you. Once you can feel the beat: join them and play yourself!

You will discover a true hidden gem of Cape Town's culinary and cultural scene which you might not have found on your own otherwise. Engage with my West-African way of life, meet new people, learn something different and have fun with some life music in a relaxing environment!

I will allocate 1.5 hours to your visit, however, please feel free to stay on.

In Cape Town, I am involved in the food industry since more than five years and proudly run my restaurant since two years. My restaurant is a spot on the map for local regulars & international clients alike!

Khadim has led an interesting life so far and has created a nice restaurant music experience. The food was so abundant and good I took home 2 boxes of it! Had there been other people to share it with it would have been 5 stars. Go with friends and drum together!

Khadim place is perfect. I went for coffee and dinner. He makes you feel at home, and immerse you in a real Senegalese experience. Starting with the best coffee that I have been tasted, the opulent dinner and finally the dessert. Everything excellent, combined with the warm welcome and inspirating Khadim’s history. Fully recommended to go with friends or alone. Thank you Khadim!

We had a wonderful time. We were made to feel so welcome, and our host shared his story with openness and generosity. This is an entrepreneurial man who has created a really special place and experience. The food was delicious, and the drumming wonderful. We had the chance to participate actively, led by a real expert. Please don't miss this unique opportunity!

Khadim was amazing! The coffee was delicious. You must be hungry as Khadim serves a lot of food! We were unable to finish everything. I learned how to play the drum. I’m an expert now LOL! You must have this experience while in Cape Town.

It's an absolute MUST that you visit Khadim's Coffee Shop.  I cannot say enough about this experience.  Book via AirBnB (very reasonably priced), you won't be disappointed.  Khadim started by sharing his journey from Senegal to Long St & Church where his shop is located.  He made his very special coffee right in front of us and began serving an array of delicious dishes from his native country, beginning with beignets, the likes of which New Orleans' famous Café Du Monde cannot compete.  Next up was a drum session led by his very talented mate while Khadim continued to serve us amazing food. The food was absolutely exquisite.  ALL OF IT.   Khadim catered to us with the warmth of a longtime friend who was raised by noble African elders.  The atmosphere is unique and comfortable with views of a bustling Long st. down below.  This was our very first activity in Cape Town and Khadim set the bar extremely high. We can only hope the rest of our stay is filled with such beauty and richness.

Khadim’s experience is excellent on a few levels. Firstly, the food (especially the traditional Senegalese coffee) is incredibly delicious and I couldn’t have enough of it. The level of craft for each dish is exceptional, and the flavors are very unique. Secondly, Khadim’s childhood connection with each dish served manifests through the passion and care that has clearly gone into the creation process. Lastly, and most importantly, Khadim’s enthusiastic, laid back, welcoming personality makes you feel at home. Overall a top notch dining experience.
