What you'll do
We start the adventure at the newly redeveloped area at London Bridge where you can get stunning up-close views of Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and City Hall. From there we will take a stroll along the riverside past the HMS Belfast and the majestic Hay’s Galleria towards the rustic cobbled streets of Southwark. On the way, we’ll pass by the Golden Hinde and Clink Prison as we approach Bankside - one of the most colourful spots along our journey. Here we will encounter the iconic Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern Gallery. At this point, you may even want to take a stroll onto the Millennium Bridge and take pictures with the vast London skyline and St Paul’s Cathedral. From here it is yet more riverside walking along Oxo Wharf to the South Bank, home to the likes of ITV Studios and IBM. As we pass under Waterloo Bridge you may want to peruse the vast collection of books on sale or stop by to watch folks in the skate park do their thing. At this point, we will see the London Eye emerge suddenly as we pass Hungerford Bridge above us and the imposing Southbank Centre on the left. Finally, we will cross over Westminster Bridge to finish at the majestic Houses Of Parliament.
I have been brought up in London and have lived here for 18 years now so I can truly say I live and breathe this city. However, even having lived here so long I’m always in awe of the grandeur and majesty of the city when walking through it. The walk from London Bridge, alongside the Thames, to Westminster is a cultural hub which I have walked hundreds of times. It is this awe of the city and the tale it tells as I walk through the streets that I want to share.
