About your host, Liadain
Liadain Aiken is a native of Co. Louth, where she spent her childhood and developed her love of knitting. It was a skill passed from mother to daughter with Liadain eagerly embracing it at an early age. After a meandering road of creativity, Liadain returned to knitting, learning to use hand-driven machines. She started making products in 2014 slowly growing the craft to become her full-time job.

What we’ll do
We will gather in my studio overlooking the river Liffey. I will share my story and the story behind the making of Donegal Yarns. Then will begin by giving you a demonstration in machine knitting. You will then each have a knitting machine to knit your scarf on. You can pick the yarn for your scarf from over 30 colours and we'll get knitting.
