What you'll do
We’ll begin your lesson with a short demonstration covering the basics of wheel-based pottery. During the demonstration, I’ll show you the various techniques and methods used to create different forms on the wheel. Complimentary drinks will be available to you throughout your lesson. After the demonstration, you’ll have an hour of hands-on learning, where I’ll assist you in mastering the basics. We’ll cover centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Depending on time, you’ll have the opportunity to make one or two pieces.
My passion for pottery started around a decade ago during an introduction to pottery class. I was fascinated by the process of turning a lump of clay into something functional and aesthetically pleasing. If you've ever been the slightest bit intrigued about how bowls, vases, and planters are made, take a break from the daily grind and experience a passion of mine that I hope will become yours, too.
