What you'll do

Discover one of the most beautiful areas of the city of Philadelphia! Whether you are visiting the city or if you already live here; have you done a mindful walk? We live our lives in autopilot most of the time and miss so much of the beauty around us! We will have a short introduction, followed by a 20 minute guided meditation in the historic Pump House of the Philadelphia Water Works. Then we’ll step into our senses, and out into the beautiful area around the Philadelphia Museum of Art for a silent walk, slowing down, and taking our time exploring this beautiful area of the city. There will be no "traditional" tour commentary allowing you to take in your surroundings fully. Your souvenir will be the beautiful images you gather along the way from the petals of a flower to an expansive view of the city, all captured in your mind’s eye, as you slowly take in the wonder of the nature around you. Tour ends at the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum where you may take pictures if you desire. Non-meditators, beginner or advanced meditators welcome!

As a qualified Mindfulness meditation teacher, and founder of Blue Sky Meditation and a former tour director, I have combined my two passions into a unique way to experience this historic & beautiful area of Philadelphia. In today’s fast paced, connected world, travel can become a shallow experience, simply checking places off our list, many times not feeling very satisfied. I believe we can bring back the satisfaction and enjoyment by being fully present and slowing things down with mindfulness. With hopes of taking your insights into your everyday life.

Where you'll be

We'll visit the historic Fairmount Water Works for a guided meditation and introduction, then on to the area around it visiting the Azalea Gardens, taking in the views of Boathouse Row, walking along the Schuylkill River and around to the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps for an expansive view of the city and ending at the Rocky statue to end our tour. Pictures will be allowed at the end of the tour.
