What you'll do

We will live through a fantasy adventure! Each participant will choose a character sheet detailing their alter ego in the game world. As the referee (or Dungeon Master), I'll describe a perilous situation, the beginning of our story. You will be free to react however you wish, working together and using your characters' strengths to survive. Dice will roll, monsters will die, jokes will fly! I will answer all your questions, and make sure the game is challenging, interesting and fun for everyone, gamer and non gamer alike. No need for you to know anything about games before we start! There is no telling where the game will lead us (that will be up to you, and the dice!), but we will do our best to reach a satisfactory conclusion by the end of the session. We will play for about 3 hours, with breaks if you need to catch your breath and release the tension. After the game, I will stick around if some of you want to chat about tabletop gaming. I can offer advice on how to start your own group the easy way!

Eric

I am a veteran of the tabletop games industry in France, an award winning writer and designer, and a hopeless Dungeons & Dragons nerd. I have been running games most weeks for friends, colleagues, and strangers for over 35 years all over Europe. I now offer sessions of old school Dungeons & Dragons in corporate offices. Tabletop roleplaying games are not only a unique way to share a fun, creative time with friends, they are an amazing tool to learn about ourselves and each other. As a game designer, I took the essential parts of the D&D framework and boiled them down to an easy but challenging system, harkening to the first days of the hobby. This is the game we will be playing together.

More tips

We will be playing a version of D&D I designed with beginners in mind. You don't need to know anything about fantasy gaming, or even the fantasy genre. Everything will be explained, and you'll quickly find that it is as easy as playing Cops & Robbers when you were a kid.
