What you'll do

A fun, energizing, unique 2 hour outdoor creative experience! We explore the less traveled, picturesque beautiful Northern woods of Central Park walking by monuments, gardens, ponds and bird watching areas as we look for interesting surfaces to create our masterpieces. You'll be guided to pay close attention to rich textures embedded with nature’s magnificent patterns and markings. On the surfaces of trees, rocks, etc., we etch out natural designs found on surfaces with graphite and/or charcoal - noticing how the impressions on the surface function on the picture plane, suggestive imagery may reveal itself to the mind’s eye. You'll have the option to go back in to the drawing with erasers and or colored pencils and pastels if they wish. The result will be a mixed media, abstract landscape empowered by surfaces and textures found in nature combined with the imagination and unique direction that each artist brings to the process. We'll sit down in an inspiring area of the park and observe what we've created. Often times seeing surprising hidden imagery like animals, faces, patterns that we could've never planned ourselves. Walk away with your own unique piece of Central Park!
