This tour is very very very history heavy. If you’re interested in looking at myriad maps and having a 1 hour prepared lecture before you even start seeing the actual sights, you will really enjoy this tour. Cihan is definitely very knowledgeable. However, if you’re looking for just highlighted interesting facts and a more interactive experience, this might not be the tour for you.

This tour is not to be missed when visiting Istanbul! I went on this tour for my first full day in Istanbul and Cihan was able to tell Turkey’s history in such a captivating way that I will have an even greater appreciation for the country as my trip continues. The devotion Cihan has for providing an excellent tour is very evident. His storytelling abilities accompanied with the beautiful sites is an experience I will never forget. Highly recommend!

My expectations for the tour with Cihan were high, but he met all of them. If you want to get a broad historical background of Turkey, and see the most popular cultural and historic sites in a day, this is the tour for you. Cihan is extremely knowledgeable about Turkish history, and when you are finished with this tour, you’ll have an appreciation for the many peoples and groups which have lived here over the millennia. Advice: wear very comfortable shoes - it’s a long day of walking, but worth every penny. If you want a quick run through so you can take your photos and check those boxes, this is NOT the tour for you. If you want to understand the grand sweep of Turkish history, you’ve come to the right place wi try Cihan.

Cihan knows his History and by the time the tour is over you will have a wealth of knowledge about turkey and it’s culture. Very lovely day thank you so much for your time And passion in explaining and for being laid back and offering to take photos. Although the day is very fast paced it’s still great time to see and get to know everything Cihan has in the itinerary. Specially if you’re into history. Thanks again!

As a first timer in Istanbul, I 100% recommend this tour. Cihan kept the energy high all day while taking us to the key sites across the city. He is an incredible wealth of knowledge - if you have any interest in learning about the city and it’s wealth of history and complexity, Cihan is the guy!
