What you'll do

Our first stop is the historical town of Stellenbosch, we'll delve into the culture rich, foodie haven and vibrant streets. We’ll have a quick mini tour of the town’s most impressive streets, and grab a coffee before heading for the Winelands.

Tokara OR Delaire Graff Wine Estate: The top of Helshoogte mountain pass brings us to our first winery. Famous for their iconic blends and olive groves, this is a superlative first tasting. Both tasting rooms provide both a cool and warm atmosphere depending on the season, sit out on the balcony at Delaire Graff. On a clear day at Tokara you have unrivaled views over False Bay to Table Mountain.

Oldenberg Mountain Vineyards: These breath-taking views set the tone for an unforgettable experience with the focus on letting our guests understand the sense of place and connect truly with the wines. I struggle to believe there is a better setting to taste wine anywhere in the winelands.

Lunch then takes place at either the Boschendal Farm Deli Restaurant or the Greenhouse Garden Restaurant at Babylonstoren.

The final wine tasting destination is at a boutique, family owned vineyard called Mitres Edge where we are able to host the tasting in their manor house or private underground wine cellar. She often hosts the tasting herself too!

*We are running an alternate wine experience in this level of lockdown 27 June - 11 July 2021.

Where you'll be

Join us as we treat your palate at some of SA's most sought after wine tasting and food destinations. The Stellenbosch wine route serves up incredible scenery, a host of unforgettable vineyards and historical cellars. Award winning wines, stunning farms and touring companions who aim to please, this experience is a must. Please note that Oldenburg Vineyards is closed on Sundays. We will however choose an equally memorable location to replace it.

The experience of Stellenbosch and it’s history with a dive into the different wines offered to taste from South Africa’s best wines was amazing. Ryan has great energy and knowledge of the area and the wines. We went from the most luxurious wine estates to very intimate wine experiences with actual wine makers in their homes, taking us through their collection and best wines, stories from their apprentices were also a marvel to hear. In between the 4 wine estates, Ryan took us through scenic routes, pointing out very important landmarks and their history in relation to how their names came about, I found that great and informative.

Our host was Ryan who picked us up in the morning with some refreshments. He has a lot of knowledge about the cape town area so he was pointing out some monuments on the drive to the Stellenbosch. Ryan has plenty nuggets about the wine farms in the area, from the winemakers to the grapes. The experience is a great blend between commercial, fancy farms and boutique, family style farms. It was a quite a treat, I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my birthday any other way.

Ryan was an incredible guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area as well as the different vineyards, and wine as a whole. We learned a ton and he was very easy to talk to, and extremely friendly. The 3 wineries we visited were all perfect and unique in their own ways, offering different experiences in both wine and scenery. Would 100% recommend this tour.

This was our second tour with Blaine while in Cape Town and we would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a well-curated visit to several wine farms. We visited three great vineyards on this tour and our favorite was the Oldenburg winery that was set in a picturesque valley! We tasted a selection of red and white varietals that were unique to each winery. Blaine was an amazing host and we would recommend his company for any person or group visiting the Cape Town region!
