What you'll do

Guests will meet at a central point in Oban where they will be welcomed in our unique tartan vehicle. They will be taken on a tour of local historical sites not normally seen by the normal tourist population and thereafter taken through countryside off the beaten track. At the end of the tour the guests will be provided with a seafood (or vegetarian option) lunch and given an insight into the local shellfish economy. This insight will be provided by someone who has worked in the fishing industry for years. They will start of in Oban and visit unique landmarks and learn of history of Oban they will then visit the Chapel at Dunstaffanage Castle which has unique local history dating back to the 12th Century. Thereafter they will visit the St Conan's Kirk a uniquely famous church which holds bones of Robert the Bruce. From there there will be opportunities to take photographs of Kilchurn Castle which dates to back to 15th century and was the original home of the Clan Campbell. The guests will be taken through Glen Lonan a hidden gem of a valley where standing stones and highland cattle can be observed. There should be opportunities to get up close and personal with highland cows and calf's This glen is hard to find and not normally visited by tourists.

Charlie

Charlie and Gordon are co-hosting this experience together. Both are locals born and bred in Scotland and are passionate about local history, the scenery, the wildlife and the local seafood. Gordon was a local fisherman and farmer and now operates a successful seafood business in Oban. He is very knowledgeable about the area and everything that comes from the sea. Charlie was a senior law enforcement professional and now operates a successful airbnb properties. He has a wealth of historical and current knowledge of the Oban and Argyll area.
