What you'll do

I'll take you for a unique day trip hike in Paradise Valley far off the beaten tracks. I (Youssef) know all the hidden paths through mountains, oasis garden and local villages. I will share with you more than just beautiful panoramic views but also my knowledges about natural materials and healing plants growing in this magic area and how to transform it to become food, medicine or to make construction.
For lunch we will share a typical tajine made by locals in one of the Amazigh villages and we ll continuing the hike down to the Oued for a nice dip in natural rock pools.
When we finish the hike we find the car back and stop on the way back to visit a women cooperative making homemade organ oil and beauty products.

Where you'll be

You will walk through Argan, Olive and Date trees taking paths only borrowed by locals far off the massively taken ways by tourists. Landscapes will change as you hike up and down the mountain, following the river, crossing wheat fields in oasis garden or through typical berber villages.
You will see of course amazing panoramic scenes of nature but it's also a day spent like berber people to discover what the amazigh culture is about.

This is definitely the best way to experience the paradise valley without 300 other tourists - Lovely hike for about 11 Km through the mountains (not too hard) - Youssef and Pauline knew the area well and explained about the place during the hike - stopped at a Argon coorporation with a botanical garden on the way - nice tour round by local ladies and oil tasting and cosmetics testing - no pressure to buy anything - had the best tagine by far here during my stay (I had 4 tagines during my stay!) at a local Berber's house and "entréé" of homemade Argon products by the Berbers - yummy! - tiny cluster of Berber houses high up in the mountains - lovely views and lovely people. Cute donkey - Arrived at a hidden oasis of pools in the rocks - totally unspoiled and no tourists - was a bit cold for a swim, but could have if i'd been brave! Saw many local springs which fill the pools - Didn't feel like I was rushed and was given all the time I needed to enjoy the scenery. Passed many other Berber small holdings along the way and learnt all about their farming methods and was offered tea everywhere - I would unreservedly recommend this trip to see paradise valley "off the tourist beaten track" - Youssef and Pauline were more than happy to do the trip only with me - no other clients that day - They did not rush me and made me feel special

Highly recommended! After passing a parking lot full of tourist vans that were all going to one spot, Youssef brought me to the most beautiful parts of the valley that were not over run by tourism. We did an extensive exploration of the landscape and culture in paradise valley. We hiked through the mountains, I took a swim in the crystal clear water and we had a wonderful lunch at a local Berber family, serving homemade amlou, very tasty tagine and freshly baked bread. Youssef is a relaxed and friendly man, I enjoyed hanging out with him all day very much. He has a lot of knowledge of nature and culture which he shares with you along the way. What a day.. it was fantastic!

What an amazing and unforgettable adventure I lived. Youssef and Pauline are truly gem of people. The hike occurs in breathtaking landscapes of the Paradise Valley, region from which Youssef is a native and has grown up: he is a well of knowledge and shared countless stories, anecdotes, fun facts on the flora and fauna & people lives of the valley, just so riveting. Both are them are so kind, caring and the passion they have for their work is truly remarkable. It was a unique and once in a lifetime experience. A million thank you's Youssef and Pauline!!

Do yourself a favour and book this experience! This hiking trail is only known to a few locals and it is magical. We experienced many different landscapes in just a few hours. Our local guide Youssef was born and bred in the area and it made our experience very special, he had intimate knowledge of the bush and history of the area. The food was amazing, we tried many new things and we couldn’t think of a better way to spend a day in Tamraght.
