What you'll do

*Entire experience takes place outdoors. Masks required. Max 10 participants.*

Immerse yourself in Philadelphia's unique sticker art scene via a 1.5-hour walking tour through the beautiful Queen Village neighborhood! You'll learn about the origins and traditions of the sticker art culture and see a variety of hand-drawn stickers and other works of street art by Philly artists.

By definition, street art is ephemeral, so there's always an element of improvisation to my tours! But I know all the spots along our route where art tends to accumulate. I'll guide you through a mix of street art hot spots and permanent or semi-permanent installations, interpreting everything we see along the way. The focus will be on stickers, but we'll also see murals, wheatpastes, installations, and graffiti, which all have overlaps with the world of sticker art.

We'll conclude our walk at the world-famous Tattooed Mom, a restaurant and bar that serves as Philadelphia's "official" museum of street art! This location is temporarily closed, but there's a spot next door that gives you a sense of what it looks like inside.

Other notes:
• Total walking distance is approximately one mile.
• Unfortunately, Philly sidewalks tend to be uneven, so this experience is not suitable for users of wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.

Ever since I first saw a sticker on the back of a street sign, I’ve been completely fascinated by Philadelphia's street art. I began photographing it in 2015, and quickly came to appreciate the amazing diversity and traditions of Philly street artists. In 2017, I become a content contributor to StreetsDept.com (a popular Philly blog about art in the public space) where I now have a monthly interview series that explores why and how street artists create their work. Come join me in discovering Philly’s character-driven, hand-drawn, cut-out sticker tradition (plus a bunch of other street art). I'll show you a ton of fresh artwork and tell you the stories behind it!

Where you'll be

We'll meet near 4th & Catharine. After checking out a cluster of stickers, a mural, and a unique installation, we'll wind our way through Philadelphia's historic Fabric Row, exploring yarnbombs, wheatpastes, and a hidden alcove full of mosaics and graffiti. Along the way, I'll point out and discuss tons of street art new and old. The tour ends at Tattooed Mom—the "official" street art museum of Philly! (temporarily closed, unfortunately)

This was a really interesting crash course in the history of graffiti, murals, sticker art, and street art in Philly. The depth of knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm made strolling in the rain worth it. I highly recommend for travellers or locals alike!

It was a very interesting tour. I didn't know about the rich history behind the street art like murals and stickers in Philly. Eric was very friendly and showed us some of the best street art in the city. He described the background and some cool stories about the artists and the art installations. My personal favorite was the the yarn bombs. It was beautiful. Now everytime I go around the city and see some street art, I take a step back and a second look - and I have Eric to thank for it!

This tour was so "Philly" and exactly what I wanted to see. I've lived here for a long time but never stopped to think about all of the true art that surrounded me. Eric delved deep into this art. He knew intricate details about the artists. Eric has interviewed, tracked down and talked to some of the artists personally which was awesome to hear about. Truly interesting and worth it big time, I've found a couple other works around the city since the tour.. and I know the artist who created them now!! Eric knows his city and the art that lies within, you won't be disappointed to check it out.. I promise you.

I have spent my entire life in Philly and walked around this location many times but I felt like this was all new. I did not know much about street or sticker art and found it fascinating. I'm now familiar with some of the artists and will definitely keep my eyes open next time I take a walk in various places. Eric was so knowledgable and his enthusiasm was contagious. Our tour group had fun learning together and have a new appreciation for all the outdoor art work.
