Micro adventure in Nordmarka forest

About your host

I am Karen Louise, and I love the possibilities we have in Oslo when it comes to enjoy the nature. I spend a lot of time either in the large and unique Nordmarka forest, in the mountains or sailing the Oslo fiord. I want to give my guests micro adventures and also micro expeditions! You don’t need to go to Svalbard to get a great experience with nature!

What we’ll do

We will meet at the fantastic and old wooden Frognerseteren restaurant with fantastic view over Oslo. But we will not eat here, as we are going to make our own food in the forest... We will walk for approx 45-60 minutes, and find the cabin in the hillside with excellent view to Holmenkollen. We make food together and get a “lecture” about Nordmarka and Oslo, we enjoy the sun or maybe a snowfall…

What else you should know

You will need to be in shape to be able to walk totally 2 hours in small paths in elevated terrain. We will have a good rest with food midways and we don’t walk fast.

What I’ll provide

Food
We will make food together in the cabin. I will serve a pot with elk meet, sauce, potatoes and vegetables - typical Norwegian

What to bring

You will need clothes that fits the weather and good walking shoes.
It is good to bring a bottle of water

Where you'll be

We visit Frognerseteren before we head for a hidden cabin in the forest. The view is wonderful. We are not far away from Oslo, still you will enjoy the wild nature and you will feel you are far away from the capital of Norway.
