What you'll do
The green countryside surrounds Verona, right a few kilometres far from the city centre. There, it's the reign of Valpolicella, the famous red wine, a great place where to cycle: E-bikes will make it so effortless. Going out the city avoiding the big roads is not easy: I will guide you on the nicest and safe roads through the last neighbourhood, getting finally in the countryside. Once we leave the houses behind, we can enjoy the view over vineyards, orchards and hills. While we cycle on bike paths and country roads, we glimpse a medieval castle that stands on the top of a hill and we cross a village where small creeks flows gently. This area is my preferite place where to ride: it's so quiet, surrounded by vineyards, with a nice view over the hills. And finally, we reach te winery: it's time to taste! The winemaker will explain us the process of the wine making, but the apex will be sitting down and sipping the famous Valpolicella wine. There must be some reasons of its fame, mustn't it? You will fall in love with this wine... On the ride back we cross the city centre: a few pictures in front of the Arena and then you will be free to enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
50% cyclist, 50% hiker: 100 % nature lover. I travelled in Europe, South America and Oceania, always on a bike or with the hiking shoes on, and a guitar on my side, but I also love relaxing in front of a bottle of wine and a plate of delicious food. I love my hometown, its beautiful hills and mountains: I am always looking for nice spots where to enjoy the greatest panoramas in Verona, Valpolicella and Lake Garda, secret places off the beaten tracks, traditional villages and authentic restaurants with the best local food. Discovering the world "piano piano" - slowly slowly, that's my motto!
Wine tasting: four Valpolicella wine tasting in a winery.
E-bike: easy cycling with the e-bike!
Where you'll be
Valpantena: one of the valleys where the Valpolicella wine is produced. It's covered with vineyards, orchards and olive trees, spotted with Venetian Villas and creeks. Montorio: nice village overlooked by a medieval castle, crossed by small streams. Winery: drinking wine directly by the producer!
