What you'll do
We will meet at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, by the fountain called Barcaccia, the leaking boat. Once we discovered why are called "Spanish", we will reach the Trevi Fountain that you will see as quiet as only a few people have ever seen. I will point you where were buried the hearts of the popes until 1880's and we'll see if the Italian President of the Republic is at home. Then we'll cross the Corso, the main street of the city centre, passing by the Italian Parliament. We'll reach the Pantheon, once temple of all the Pagan Gods, and today Catholic church dedicated to all the Martyrs. We will enjoy the peace of the nearby Sant'Eustachio square drinking the best coffe in Rome, espresso of course. Navona square, in the ancient roman times the competition field, houses today two masterpieces of Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini the masters of the Baroque. The tour will finish in Campo de' Fiori, a real roman market!
Before being a tour guide I am an art historian. My interest in the Roman cultural heritage led me to deepen various aspects of the art of my city with particular reference back to the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque era. I finished my university career studying a XVII century "tourist guide" of Rome entitled The journey in Rome written by a connoisseur named Giulio Mancini who was also the personal physician of Pope Urban VIII Barberini. I have been working as a tour guide for many years and I gladly share my passion and my knowledge to whoever want to whoever want to discover Rome!
