What you'll do

We’ll start in the centre of Berlin behind station Friedrich Straße or in the district of Prenzlauer Berg near the famous Mauer Park. When you have your own bikes I could also pick you up at your apartment.

If this is your first time in Berlin I’ll take you to the main historic sites and landmarks of the city plus some hidden places. You’ll also hear about the fascinating history of the neighbourhood of Prenzlauer Berg, how it became the home of the counter culture during the East German times and why it played such an important role in the peaceful revolution that brought down the wall. Today this former “ugly duckling” is one of Berlin’s prettiest neighbourhoods and famous for its countless restaurants, bars and cafés.

Our route will also take us to some fascinating sites of the Berlin wall, like the street where most escape tunnels were dug and the first border guard managed to escape. We’ll also visit the only place of the Berlin wall to be preserved in its full depth. Here you can actually see how the border strip looked .

Hi I’m Ronald, originally from Amsterdam, I moved to Berlin 6 years ago for my job together with my wife. From a passion for the history of the city I now call home, I decided to quit my office job in finance 5 years ago and have specialized in giving guided bike tours in this amazing city.

As a trained Anthropologist I am not only curious by nature, but also by nurture, and always look at the historical context and how it shapes the present and the future of this city and its people.

Topics of my tours range from history with a focus on WWII and the Berlin Wall, to street art & modern city living, or any kind of topic on request. I also love to give you the tips and advice you need to make the most out of your Berlin stay.
