What you'll do

This experience includes: Cook your own traditional tlayuda w professional chef Miguel Mezcal tasting with a professional mezcalier Learn to dance cumbia/salsa with a professional dancer 1. Cook Your Own Tlayuda First up, we will chat about one of the most famous dishes in Oaxaca, la tlayuda. We wil cook three unique salsas and more to enjoy with our amazing tlayudas. Then we will start the grill for tasajo, chorizo or pork ribs, for an unforgettable meal. 2. Mezcal Tasting Let Chef Miguel guide you through a sensory experience as you enjoy the unique aromas and sensations of this ancestral beverage. We will learn to taste and enjoy mezcal with joy in the proper way. (i.e. it is not tequila, NO SHOTS) We will taste 3-4 varieties of silvester agaves from different regions in Oaxaca. 3. Dance Class Learn to dance cumbia or salsa in less than one hour with a professional dancer!

Bienvenidos! I am Chef Miguel Alvarez from Oaxaca. For almost 15 years I cooked in Central America, Europe & Canada, but my passion is traditional Oaxacan food, the flavor of my hometown. Come taste local mezcales, learn some salsa steps, and craft delicious tlayudas all in one magical evening. I will share the local culture & traditions of my hometown with you!
