What you'll do

Let's explore some great London pubs as we go on our scotch adventure! Learn how whisky in Scotland was first produced, who started making it, the illicit trade and what made it the drink it is today. Discover the different whisky producing areas of Scotland and learn how each has it's own particular history and taste profile. Don't worry though the experience is also about enjoying a drink and friendship as well as some history and facts! In each of the 4 pubs we can enjoy a dram and have a blether (chat!). A Scottish tradition dating back centuries. Some Scottish people believe it’s not whisky until it’s shared. Close to the start we will stop at the William Wallace memorial. Discover if he did really shout 'Freeeeedom!' like in the movie Braveheart. (spoiler alert: he didn't!). There are 4 standard measures of whisky included in the price of the experience, 1 in each pub! This ensures you get a broad taste of the different flavours and regions. Find out if you prefer Lowlands, Speyside or maybe you're a fan of the smoky Islay's? Each person will be given a whisky tasting map to take notes if they wish. Don't worry if you have a friend or partner that wants to join in but whisky isn't their thing. In the pub they can exchange their included whisky for a beer or wine!

Learn more about Rab

Rab

Hi, I'm Rab, born and bred in Glasgow but lived and worked in and around London for 12 years. During that time I've worked out where the best pubs are to drink some whisky! I'm also the founder and owner of a pop up whisky bar that specialises in Scottish single malt whisky. I set up the bar as I was fed up with whisky being 'exclusive' and somehow for connoisseurs. It really isn't! I'm passionate about Scotland and it's culture and would love to share that with you in some small way. Check out my Facebook or Instagram @thespiritofscotland for some photos of previous tours. See you soon! Slainte (cheers)!

What's included

Drinks
4 standard 25ml measures of single malt whisky. (1 in each pub) If preferred you can have a standard beer or wine instead.
