What you'll do

We are very passionate about churros and chocolate, especially the Mexican kind. You may not know this but chocolate was invented in Mexico by an indigenous group and then exported to the world. Together, we will cook one of Mexico´s favorite pastries. We will go through the whole process from scratch. We will also create an amazing ganache chocolate using some of the most amazing cacao beans we have from Mexico. We will also make hot chocolate from scratch to pair with the churros.

We will be cooking located in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of Mexico City. Don´t worry about needing fancy equipment because you do not need a profesional kitchen at home to make this recipe.

La clase está súper padre, además de enseñarte a cocinar te enseñan un poco de la historia de lo que utilizas para cocinarlo. Muchas gracias! 🥰

This was such a fun class! Mariza was our teacher/host and she was able to accommodate my dairy allergy by using coconut milk and oil. My friend and I had a private class and we really enjoyed learning the history of churros and getting baking tips as we went along!

It was in a nice and cozy place. We enjoyed making churros with Maritza the old fashion way. She also taught us how to make a special chocolate sauce, yum!

We had an AMAZING experience cooking with Mariza. She is warm, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about Mexican cuisine and tradition. We learned so much and look forward to taking another class with her when we are back in Mexico City!

Mariza is a great host - she’s warm, inviting, funny, and a great teacher! We learned about the history of churros before making them. She guided us and provided a bunch of tips for when we make them ourselves back home. We also got to make a local style of coffee to go with our churros and chocolate dip. She ran the class seamlessly with her assistant, I would definitely recommend this class.
