What you'll do
The experience begins in the morning with a farm tour - greeting the chickens and turkeys, collecting eggs, feeding the horses and sheep, tending the orchard and gardens, and a quick walk through the woods. Depending on the interest, we'll have a hands-on experience with processing wool, spinning, weaving, dyeing, needlefelting, or soap making. If Jostein (our Norwegian Fjord) is in the mood, we may take a pony ride. A light snack and a visit to the Farm Store finish up the experience
For more than 15 years, I have been using wool to create both the practical and the whimsical. 10 years ago, we bought a small farm so we could raise our own sheep, and put our sustainability theories into practice. Now, we share the farm with a flock of sheep, a few horses, a lot of dogs, and a whole mess of chickens and turkeys. Along the way, we have built an elderberry orchard to further the availability of natural wellness.
Please note any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate.
You provide the comfortable shoes, we'll provide the equipment and materials, as appropriate for your activity.
Where you'll be
Learn about chickens and turkeys, and where eggs come from; make friends with sheep and understand how clothing and art are created from the wool; walk through the elderberries and gardens, and understand how nature provides almost everything we need.
