What you'll do
We will start the session with a discussion to identify the project work to be undertaken e.g a decorative plate or dish, a glass light catcher, a glas bird, angel or bauble. A brief teaching session relating to the tools, equipment and glass cutting techniques that will be needed to undertake the agreed project. The students will then select their materials, and will be support in a step by step process to complete their individual project. The duration of the project workshop will be between 2 and 3 hours depending on the project selected and the level of practical support requested or required by the student.
I have attended basic and advanced stain glass, glass slumping and copper foiling classes leading to the development and consolidation of my glass crafting skills. I have a masters degree in Education from Dundee University equipping me to prepare and deliver teaching sessions. I have been producing bespoke glass work for 7 years with several panels displayed in the garden. The bumble craft workshop is small and can accommodate a maximum of two students comfortably. I have delivered stain glass and copper foiling sessions to a range of novice crafters all producing at least one finished item
All the necessary equipment will be provided and you will be made aware of all the health and safety aspects before their use
Where you'll be
The experience will take place in the bumble craft workshop situated in the grounds of my garden, next door to the Howff.
