What you'll do

Come to my house where I will meet you at the door. There's plenty of parking space and it's situated on a quiet country lane. I will bring you in to the kitchen for a cuppa after your drive. The kitchen is the hub of the house and the oldest part (200 years old). From here we will go to the weaver's studio that is part of the house but has a separate entrance at the top of a stairs outside. It used to be the old hayloft. Here you will have the experience of learning the ancient art of tapestry weaving. If you have never woven before or worked with wool and ancient crafts it is the ideal time and place to do it. In the weaving I will introduce you to design skills for tapestry weaving. You will learn about looms and prepare your own frame loom for weaving. There's endless yarn colours to choose from so you can weave and finish a miniature tapestry to take away. The workshop will run from 10am - 3pm . We will take a break for teas and coffees in the kitchen half way through the day . The studio is 10 minutes drive from Monasterboice High Crosses and the beautiful fishing village of Clogherhead and 20 minutes from Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre. Cost 100e
