What you'll do

We will offer a unique experience consisting of an introduction to a slow printing technique called letterpress. Letterpress printing was the normal form of printing text from its invention by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid-15th century until the 19th century and remained in wide use for books and other uses until the second half of the 20th century. Letterpress printing remained the primary means of printing and distributing information until the 20th century, when offset printing was developed. More recently, letterpress printing has seen a revival in an artisanal form across the world. Duration: a 2 hours experience Place: our workshop in Valencia (La Canyada) Cookies&coffee break will be provided. Structure: we will focus on 3 dimensions: graphic design-printing-finishing process. This is an introduction experience which will allow you to feel the cotton papers we work with, see the inks and play with printing plates. We will help you experience the transformation of your name into a printing project. This means that at the end of your unique escapade you will keep in your hands something very personal: your own business cards. Believe it and feel it!

Bobby

We worked in the advertising industry for more than 10 years. One day we decided to quit the madness and take it slowly. We started a small letterpress+design studio. Because we have ideas, we have the knowledge and we want to do it our way. We are Ella, the dreamer/creative and Bobby, the graphic designer/technical solution guru for any project we envision. We love our inky hands, the uniqueness of each piece we print, the time we suspend during this old process of printing. Our experience will focus on the interaction of new technologies, minimal designs and an old special printing technique

Where you'll be

Our workshop is situated in La Canyada, easy to reach by metro. It's a vintage letterpress studio in which new and old techniques are blending. Our main star is an Original Heidelberg Letterpress machine born in 1971.
