Where you'll be
A local loch run as a private fly fishing venue in the Fife countryside. Good car park. Excellent paths and platforms on water. In most experience we fish from a rowing boat depending on weather.

i am new to fly-fishing. Brett explained the basics very well which enabled me to get stuck in with the practice straight away. We fished from the shore one day and from the boat on the second day. After a few exciting bites at the end of the line, i managed to land my first trout. Brett is my recommended Gilly for anyone who is avid to know more about fly-fishing.

We had a wonderful time fly fishing for trout with Brett in Scotland! Although the weather was not on our side, that did not hold Brett back from taking us out on the water for a couple of hours to teach us the ropes. We did not catch any fish, but we are very excited to try this out again when it's a bit less windy and rainy. After our experience, we joined Brett and a couple of his mates inside where they served us some hot coffee, which was a fantastic way to warm up. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique experience surrounded by an absolutely stunning landscape! Thanks again, Brett!

Brett is a master fly fisherman (wins national competitions level) and very generous with his knowledge. We're both beginners, but Brett was very patient with us and skilled in teaching the technique of roll casting. (He also takes out seasoned fly fisherman to work on specific techniques.) He took us out to a private fishing reservoir which highly increased our chances of success and eliminated the risk of getting a line tangled along brush bordering a stream. We ended up catching a beautiful 3 lb rainbow trout -- a first for me! All in all, a lovely day out and would make a great outing from Edinburgh.
