What you'll do
You'll make your way to my home in the woods (about an 8 minute drive outside of Joseph) where I'll introduce you to the tools and techniques of encaustic painting. I'll demonstrate how to layer the wax and resin to build up a surface for your painting, then you'll work on layering wax on to boards of a few different sizes, fusing each layer with a heat gun. We'll add textures and the beginning layers of colors and then we'll break for a picnic lunch. We'll get back into the studio to have you further your paintings by adding more color, texture, or photo transfers as we go.
I have been practicing encaustic painting since 2013, having fallen in love with the process during an intimate workshop much like I provide now. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in painting from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. I operate an online business where I sell my paintings and prints.

Things to keep in mind
For a full refund, cancel at least 7 days before the experience is scheduled to start or within 24 hours of purchase.
Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.
Up to 4 guests aged 14 and up can attend.
You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
This experience includes alcohol. Only guests who meet the legal drinking age will be served alcoholic beverages.
I suggest wearing clothing that you won’t mind getting paint on. It is comfortably warm in the studio, even in winter. If you have respiratory issues, this may not be for you. The vapors released could be bothersome, but we have good ventilation as well.
