What you'll do

Jump back in time with us and be captivated as we trace in the footsteps of Copenhagen’s historical roots, unveiling the hidden gems of the city.

We start by checking out at Rådhusplatsen, home to Copenhagen City Hall. Around the corner, we find the squares Nytorv and Gammeltorv. We’ll travel past the Church of Our Lady, where an Australian commoner became a Crown Princess; we'll look up to the stars like astronomers have done from atop The Round Tower; and take in picturesque facades of the houses surrounding the historical hangout Gråbrødretorv. Oh! Did you know that the Danes have a sweet tooth? If you do too, you'll enjoy the visit to the Bolsje factory.

To finish off, a short walk along the main shopping streets, weaving our way in and out of secret alleys, brings us to a view of Slotsholmen (“Palace Island”), with the stately Christiansborg Palace, a popular spot for both power and authority. There it is, our Copenhagen Old Town Walk - short, sweet and complete.

I'm the founder of OURWAY Tours, specialising guided tours within Scandinavia. I started in Stockholm, 2011, as a qualified guide with the question: What do people enjoy when they travel? The answer we found, is to: "Meet the people, try the food, live the stories" and so that's what we do. In 2016 we felt enough guests had asked us if we did tours anywhere else to make the decision to expand to Oslo & Copenhagen.

Our team of handpicked locals want nothing more than to share their love for the city with you. If you're lucky you'll tour with: Regina, Robin, Silke, Guilia or Joseph.

In short, we give you "people, places, and culture—the local way".

Where you'll be

This is an extensive walk of the Old Town including its history and an introduction to the country and the Copenhageners, where we will use all of our scenes. We will make multiple stops throughout the Old Town and mix the general stops with visits to sites that are often difficult to find or overlooked by visitors. The route of the tour might vary depending on who it's with and what the interest of the guests are.

Enjoyed our walking tour which really helped us decide what to check out on our own later. Julia, our guide, was very sweet.

I had the most amazing afternoon with tour guide Phoebe today. We walked through the old part of Copenhagen. Phoebe is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Copenhagen and history, and tells a lot of really interesting stories. Besides that, she's got a great character which made the tour a lot of fun. If you ever go touring in Copenhagen, please make sure it's with Phoebe!

The tour included places and details we wouldn't have discovered on our own. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Copenhagen's history and life in Denmark today. Our guide even added some details catering to my personal interests. All in all, it was a perfect introduction to Copenhagen and a great experience.

Our trip was hosted by Robin. It was fun and friendly and she certainly knew enough to make for an engaging couple of hours around the old town. Definitely recommended.
