What you'll do

After a quick meet and greet we will start by foraging for flowers and botanicals across our 30 acre farm then move to the distillery to extract the botanicals into essential oils and floral waters. Once we have enough fragrant oils we move to our old world apothecary to make a natural perfume using vintage copper stills and the freshly distilled essential oils. Once your perfume blended and completed you can bottle, lable and wax seal your creation.

From perfumery we move to candle making where you will learn about wax, Color and fragrance then make a basic candle before attempting an elaborate multi layered and coloured carved candle.

Our last craft of the day will be soap making where we will use the floral waters we distilled earlier in the day to make natural soaps using traditional cold and hot process, methods, ingredients and tools.

Throughout the day there will be tea, coffee and refreshments and a wonderful picnic lunch in our Tree House or Shepherds Huts. We have 23 friendly farm animals to meet, a pond with row boat, rope bridges, woodlands, creeks and breathtaking views to enjoy during you Artisan Day.

This is a step off the everyday, for a few hours you are immersed in a world of lovely smells, beautiful surroundings and back to a natural, calm, and unique experience away from the modern world. So glad we booked, we will always remember our afternoon of soap, perfume and candle making and lunch in the tree house.

Totally perfect. She kept us fascinated for about 8 hours straight; was able to answer whatever questions we threw at her in an engaging and insightful way; and the perfume/soap/candles we ended up producing were wonderful.

Shonna is wonderful! Her beautiful farm and enchanting workshop are totally in tune with her nature-loving spirit. Spend the day with her, or even an hour, and you’ll learn so much. My candles smell lovely and I’ll never look at lavender the same again. I had a delightful afternoon tea during the experience, and it was very thoughtful and tasty.
