What we’ll do

We'll be exploring the shoreline of Alameda to look for the amazing diversity of bird life: shorebirds, ducks and pelicans, to name a few. We'll explore the rich ecosystem of San Francisco Bay that they depend upon for…

Where you'll be

We'll meet at Alameda's "South Shore" beach area with nice walking paths, a sandy beach and a marsh overlook. We can modify the walk to best meet the needs of your group. The beach is the longest on San Francisco Bay with about 2 1/2 miles of sand. We'd walk a modest amount of it, with about 1 mile of walking to make sure we have time to watch the birds and explore.
