What you'll do

We run trips from Santa Catalina on a daily basis. We meet at the dive shop at 7.30 and the boat usually leaves between 8 and 8.30 in the morning, coming back at about 4.30. We do two or three dives a day, depending on what divers prefer, and weather conditions. The dive sites are located in Coiba National Park, which covers a series of beautiful islands. We stop for a short lunch break at one of the beautiful beaches in the marine reserve. As for the underwater world, among other things you can see white-tipped reef sharks, nurse sharks, turtles, dolphins, eagle rays, devil rays, sting rays, lobsters, sea horses, frog fish, schools if jacks, blue-fin trevallies, barracudas, moray eels, wahoos, snappers and of course lots of colourful butterflyfish and parrotfish. In season, you might get lucky and spot a whale shark (January to April) or a humpback whale (July to September). Our dives are planned to last roughly 45 minutes, depending on conditions and air consumption of the divers. The depths range from 12 to 24 meters. The diving is suitable for all levels and we adjust our choices of sites to experience. We also offer all the PADI training courses including Discover Experiences.

Camilo

As a founder and co-owner of Panama Dive Center, we've been getting trained and working hard since 2012 to become the best option to discover the underwater beauty of Coiba National Park. After 12 years of working in finance, I decided to change my life after seeing the unique underwater life in the park and captivated for the small village of Santa Catalina, where you can lose yourself in the quietness of a small community and become part of nature. Participants from all around the world qualified the experience we offer as the top one in Panama. At the moment we have a staff of more than 12 people keen to change offer a unique experience from the booking to the end. We know we only have one day to change the life of the people in contact with the beauty of Coiba National Park and we put our effort on this.

Where you'll be

All our activities are in Coiba National Park. In 2004 UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. Untouched is ocean’s bottom surrounding the chain of islands, which is linked to Coco’s and the Galapagos Islands by the underwater Coco Ridge mountain chain. Turning it into a National Park in 1992, the Panamanian government has succeeded in protecting the 760 different species of fish that can now be found here.
