What you'll do

You can cook and eat with a culinary chef who teaches to locals almost everyday for more than 20 years. In the class, you can cook 3-4 dishes using plenty of local and fresh ingredients. You will not only see Yoko's demonstration but also can cook yourself. You will have time to taste different types of Japanese local seasonings, such as miso and soy sauce, and learn about the Japanese food culture and history. After cooking, you can enjoy the dishes, served on a beautiful plates, and enjoy the conversation with other participants. Her cooking class's motto is "quick" , "available anywhere", and "reasonable price" - all recipes can be cooked in less than 20 minutes, you can get the ingredients anywhere at reasonable prices.

Natsumi

When my friends from overseas who are vegan/vegetarian came to Japan last year, they faced the challenges finding food they can eat. I realized there are limited choices for vegan/vegetarian in Japan. When I mentioned this to my mother, Yoko who runs a cooking school for 22 years, she said, "It's not difficult". she told me that she already has a lot of plant-based recipes. Together with my mom, I would like to share these plant-based dishes to tourists who are facing challenges. Yoko opened her cooking studio in 1997. She teaches recipes from all over the world to over 80 students a month including a famous Japanese celebrity. She lived in Kyoto, Paris(France), and Shizuoka. When she lived in Paris, she went to a French cooking school for 2 years.
