What you'll do

I have been living in Bishkek for a couple of years now. In the beginning, I didn't appreciate the way this city looked at all. But now I have fallen in love with it. I have become especially fond of Soviet architecture and Bishkek has some very interesting specimens on display! I would like to show you my favourite Soviet buildings and share all my knowledge about them. It's this subtle mixture of ugliness, coolness, impressiveness and symmetry that makes them so attractive and beautiful in their own way. You think "beautiful" is exaggerated? Let me introduce them to you, and tell you their crazy stories. I'm sure I can change your mind!

I have been living in Bishkek for nearly 5 years and am the co-founder of the tour agency Andash Travels, which operates since 2018 and offers historical, cultural and adventure tours. I speak the local language and am passionate about nearly everything when it comes to Kyrgyzstan. When I'm not working as a guide, I shoot documentaries dealing mostly with cultural and social issues in Kyrgyzstan.

Where you'll be

I will take you to the controversial wedding palace, the first earthquake-safe building in Kyrgyzstan, the Albanski house known for its complete failure, the train station and its dark history, the former collective bank with it's fascinating facade, the ever-changing Ala Too square, and many other buildings on the way that add to the charm of Bishkek.

My girlfriend and I actually did 2 tours with Nadine. This one and the graffi tour. Both were excellent. We had a great time learning about history, the people and architecture/art. We were particularly appreciative of the way that Nadine and her friends (who we luckily ran into) accommodated my girlfriend's veganism.

We had a great afternoon with Nadine. We had been in Kyrgyzstan for about 3 weeks and she showed us places we hadn’t seen and offered unique insight into places we had been before. Definitely recommend!

Nadine is a fantastic guide and you just have to love her! She’s great!
