What we’ll do

Starting at an altitude for 450m, we'll embark from Omoshiroyama Kogen train station and follow a narrow creek to the trail head. We'll climb from the south (Yamagata) side through dense cedar forests. Keep an eye out wildlife, such as Japanese macaques or the occasional kamoshika (mountain serow) as they are numerous in this area. There are some fairly steep portions of the climb, but the…

Where you'll be

This guide occurs entirely on the Omoshiroyama mountain range. Natural beauty abounds, with the highlight being the view from the summit. This is one of the best views in the prefecture.

Outdoor activities carry risks, and you may be exposed to dangerous situations as part of this experience. Make sure you can participate safely given your abilities and the conditions (such as location, weather, and equipment).

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 8 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Terrain is not rough, but definitely a steep uphill and downhill in parts. Guests should be in moderately good health, and bring plenty of water and snacks.
