What you'll do
Early departure from the Eco hacienda Roman. Hike of about 6 to 7 hours and 10 km, some ascensions of 200 meteres and down. We will visit first the village of Ccollpani Grande first, short hike up of 45 minutes, pass coffee and tropical fruit plantations such as mangos, papayas, pine apples, maracuya, bananas, cacao, cacao, avocados, chirimoyas, manioc etc. We can pluck the fruits and try them. Then we continue to a nature reserve with cloud rainforest, seethe jungle. From there we will go to "el mirador'", place with panoramic views to the the waterfalls and the Urubamba Valley. We will end the hike at Collpani Grande waterfall (last fall about 30 meters) and the Urubamba river and then return to the farm. The region near Machu Picchu is one of the richest habitat in flora and fauna in Peru. You will see along the paths many birds species (humming birds, green parrots) butterflies, orchids, bromeliads, tree ferns , large trees etc. It is an easy safe hike, suitable for families with children. You will get an impression of the Peruvian countryside and rainforest!

I have been designing hotels and was co owner of a travel agency in Peru. In Ccolpani Grande, Machu Picchu district we are offering with community members several hikes to the village, to coffee and tropical fruit plantations and 2 waterfalls nearby, and a Nature Reserve of 2500 hectares of cloud rainforest limiting the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Ideal for nature observation, birding, nature photography (400 bird - and orchid species, 300 butterflies, 1500 plant species have been counted, habitat of the spectacled bear and puma). Very rich flora and fauna, splendid panoramic views and the real Peruvian countryside! Community members will work as guides as an alternative for their farming activities.
We will offer snacks, many tropical fruits, cold and g hot beverages as water or juices, lemonade, maracuya, coffee!

Where you'll be
We will visit the village of Ccollpani Grande, then we will visit the coffee and fruit plantations nearby, see how the Peruvian farmland near Machu Picchu is. We will continue to a Natural Reserve and we will get an first impression of the jungle and end in the waterfalls of Ccollpani Grande of about 150 meters height!
