What you'll do

As a jacket of Hanbok, Jeogori is going to be made into a living hanbok which can be worn comfortably in everyday life. However, it is difficult and time-consuming to make a work process than making a hanbok skirt, so it is hard for beginners to follow the experience. It is more suitable for those who have experience sewing. We will meet at the Sewing History museum, "Iumpium". I will be there to welcome you after a brief greeting, you will have time to understand the whole process of the class. As with any theoretical knowledge, practice is important in sewing, so you will have a go at using sewing machines on practice textiles. Also, if you choose the pattern and color fabric you want from among the materials that I have prepared, you will start to experience full-scale Jeogori. First, we cut the fabric along with the jacket pattern (pattern). After the cut, the accessories will be stitched first, and the front, back, and sleeves of the jacket will be stitched. When you have finished all the stitching, you can iron it and get the shape of your clothes, and your own Jeogori is finished!

Where you'll be

This experience is held at the Sewing History museum, "Iumpium", where the past, present, and future of the sewing industry live. The industry is the backbone that shaped South Korea as a leading nation in fashion. It is situated in a bustling residential area of Changsin-dong, where decades-old Korean houses, a market, fortress, and the pig's feet recipe—Jokbal—all intertwine. It possesses a unique charm with numerous Nepalese offerings.
