What you'll do

We'll be constructing actual products I make and sell for Kohutt™. We'll begin with an overview of industrial sewing machines, materials and machine configuration and maintenance. We'll then move onto practicing sewing on a range of different industrial sewing machines. Each machine is unique and has it's own features and challenges. After lunch, we'll start cutting our patterns and constructing our first pieces of gear using a range of materials, zips and finishes. By the end of the day, you'll go home with something you have created, utilising your newly found industrial gear making skills!

Nick

I'm the founder and primary maker at Kohutt™, an outdoor gear brand specialising in the small scale manufacturing of outdoor goods. My interest in industrial sewing began during a solo half-circumnavigation of the world in a small sailboat, where I learned to repair and sew canvas. In 2015 I started my first brand, specialising in outdoor canvas products, and in 2017 I re-branded and began Kohutt™, which specialises in small carry gear and leatherwork.
